An Aerial Hoop Artist Fell During a Cirque du Soleil Performance
During the 7 p.m. performance of KOOZA by Cirque du Soleil on August 25 2024, an aerial hoop artist suffered an injury that required hospitalization. The artist was performing at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon when the incident occurred.
According to witnesses, the artist, who has not yet been identified, was performing a routine in which she was suspended from a hoop that was attached to the ceiling. During the routine, the artist lost her grip on the hoop and fell approximately 20 feet to the stage below.
The artist was immediately attended to by medical personnel and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries is not yet known, but she is expected to make a full recovery.
