2024 Election Results in France

National Results

The official results of the 2024 European Parliament elections in France were released on June 9, 2024. The election saw a turnout of 50.12%, with a total of 47,970,744 votes cast.

The National Rally emerged as the largest party in France, winning 23.3% of the vote and 24 seats in the European Parliament. The incumbent La République En Marche! party came in second with 21.1% of the vote and 22 seats.

Gender Balance

The European Parliament has a goal of achieving gender equality by 2025. In the 2024 French elections, women made up 50.8% of the electorate and 52.2% of the candidates. However, only 42.9% of the elected MEPs were women, leaving France slightly below the EU average of 45.2%.

French President Macron's Reaction

French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the nation shortly after the election results were announced. He acknowledged the gains made by the National Rally but emphasized the importance of unity and European cooperation. Macron also pledged to work with his European partners to address the concerns raised by the electorate.
